We camped out en route to Seattle from Vancouver and drove the last few hours of the journey in the morning. We stopped in at a visitors center for lunch and got our bearings.

We found reasonably priced parking about a half hour walk away from the Seattle Center. We set off to walk around the city for the afternoon

The Space Needle |
Seattle has beautiful harbour front, much of it with pedestrian access. We wandered down to the sculpture park and then South through the city

We got to Pike Place market just in time to see it before it closed. The maze like indoor market place is home to restaurants, stalls with fruit and fresh seafood and lots of cool little shops.

Our busy afternoon of walking had us beat, and so we headed back to the car and found a spot to camp South of the city near Olympia.
