The next stop after Thunder Bay was our first stop in Manitoba. We stopped in at Brandon, Manitoba's second largest city where my uncle Tim is working there for the summer. He let us crash at his place for a few nights. We met him and he took us out for dinner at Five Guys. The burgers were really tasty (although the free peanuts confused me).

Afterwards we went to a beer store and I picked up some new beer to try and we headed back to our lodgings and drank some and visited with Tim.
The next day Tim gave us a tour of Brandon and than took us to see the planes that the company he works for owns. The ones we could visit were in the hangar. Three spray planes used for crop dusting. Both Amy and I took turns sitting in the cockpit pretending we were flying.

We toured around outside the hangar looking at the operation. Besides crop dusting there was a fertilizer operation (wet and dry), seed cleaning and the water bombers

We went to the airport north of town to see the plane Tim flies. Sadly the tarmac was locked but we walked to the RCAF WW2 memorial. The wall around the statue listed the more than 19,000 members of the RCAF that lost there lives in world war 2.
So the day we left Brandon we tried again to see the water bomber and we got in this time. The plane is stored at the airplane club storage which is next to the Commonwealth air training museum. They were doing a fundraiser breakfast and they had some of the antique planes outside. (Tim did say what all the planes were called but alas I am forgetful)

Many thanks for Tim being an awesome host (he took us out to eat twice!). Putting up with two wandering drifters looking for a place to crash.
