Driving up to Lake Superior Provincial Park

We reorganized the car, said goodbye to Connie and Josh and set off North on highway 6 once again.

At Espanola we turned West onto the Transcanada, leaving the 6, our last vestige of Guelph behind us.

We hit Sault Ste. Marie by noon and stopped in at a Muio’s restaurant for lunch. The food was nothing to brag about but they gave you a lot for a little that’s for sure.

After a short walk around town we found a Laundromat that was also an internet café! Two things we were in desperate need of after three days in the bushes with little to no phone service.

Hit two birds with one stone at this Laundromat and internet cafe

We picked up groceries on the way out of town. Got some craft beer for Bill and a bottle of wine for me. A full tank of gas and we were on our way.

The weather was beautiful in The Soo but it wasn’t long before we hit some of Lake Superiors’ famous thick fog.

Once in the park we were out of cellphone range once again. The park was mostly empty and we were able to get one of the highly coveted beach sites.

With a few hours of daylight left we explored the beach and some of the rocky outcrops along the shores.
